Well, it seems another week has rolled on, and my time on the computer is getting shorter and shorter. Between the kids in school and and Jon working on proposals, bids and invoices, it seems I never actually have the time to sit down out here in the office. The last week has been crazy. It seems something new is constantly popping up that demands immediate attention. to put in in a brief recap...
my father in law was detained in Vietnam for almost 2 days. After the men were questioned many times, the Lord started working on the police officers hearts. They were not allowed to leave, but they were not locked in a cell and allowed free reign in the office. After the men fell asleep in awkward places, the chief of police got upset that his men had not prepared a better place for them to rest and he did this himself. They seemed to have the most problem with these little paper airplanes that Dad uses to attract children. On the sides and wings the gospel is printed, but they were in English and so the translator had to translate what they meant to the police. Dad said the gospel tracts he had been handing out were read and re-read for understanding. You see, the police had to put in their report EXACTLY what the men were handing out. Somehow my father in law tears the word Hell out of paper and makes a cross. I have never seen it done, but the men were fascinated by it. After being given clearance to leave( and signing papers that they could not preach in Vietnam) the men headed into a taxi, and Dad was called back in. one of the men had a paper in his hand and asked Dad to do the Paper thing again, to show the other police officers that had not seen it. When he did, one man clearly asked in English,"but what does that mean???" and so here he was, detained for preaching, requested not to preach as it was against the law, being asked for a presentation of the gospel . Needless to say, he obliged. He has been told, they are welcome back, but they must have a permit to preach, and they cant call together large groups, only preach one on one. Isn't the lord wonderful? When you are in the middle of His will it is the safest, best place to be!!!!

I know exactly what you mean about having little computer time these days. I do my posts in spurts, saving them to finish later in the day. It's busy 'round here too.
When Bro Douglass sent us his account of what happened there in Vietnam, I just shook my head. It's amazing what God does for His children, isn't it?
