Miracles

Last night during devotions we were reading in Mark chapter 5. The last half concerns the miracle of Jesus raising Jairus' daughter from the dead. We actually got caught up, and had to pause when we read that the people in the house mocked Jesus, and He "put them out" of the house, only allowing her father, mother, Peter, James and John to see the miracle happen.

Those poor people, who just did not have faith, never got to witness the miracle. They missed it!! The miracle still happened, despite their unbelief, but they were not part of it. How sad for them.

So, we as a family started talking about the miracles the Lord performs today, in our lives and in those lives around us. But how many have we actually witnessed, and how many have happened, that we missed, because in our hearts, we truly did not have the faith that God could do it?

We talked of little, nonsensical miracles, at least in the grand sense of things. Little miracles that were only important to us, but because they were so important to us, the Lord performed them.

We talked of larger, more "important" miracles, of healing, and jobs, and churches, and family members.

We talked of the movie Facing the Giants, and how if you watched closely, you could SEE the miracles happen!! The man prayed for revival FOR YEARS, and because he had faith, he was able to witness that miracle happening before his eyes. The wind changed direction in the football game....A couple who were told they would probably NEVER have children, had several... A family who desperately needed a new vehicle was provided one..

When we don't have faith, that is a way of scorning Him, it's like we are saying,

" No way, God can't do that. That is impossible, He just is not strong enough"

The Lord sends us miracles all the time, are we seeing them happen?? Or are we "PUT OUT" as Jesus did to those who scorned Him at Jairus' house.
