Moving Again

You know, prayer is a funny thing. We have been living here for over a year now. We love the home, we fit it well. We love the neighborhood, my kids run and ride bikes all over, the neighbors all know them, the boys actually picked up a few lawn mowing accounts this summer,we have never really had that before. I mean, kids run in and out of our home all the time, one looks enough like Justin to be his brother, and he is more family than friend. He even helps unload groceries when I get home.
But all those things are superficial. We moved here for one reason. WORK. Jon could not find anything in NC, and we prayed and prayed, and it is the only job that came up. Unfortunately we never could find a church home here, and that just wasnt good.
Then the company he worked for folded, and that REALLY wasnt good. Here we were in place we did not want to be, without a good church , and the reason we had for coming was GONE.
So, the job hunt started again, we really focused our efforts in two areas. NC 9 for he area and church) and MD ( just for a church).
We could not move without a job, and we even travelled several times to those areas for interviews, but nothing panned out. Then he got a call here. Actually the job would take him to SC, just south of Charleston.Well, the FIRST thing we did this was look for a church . Had one of the best services in a long time, people felt comfortable enough to go to the altar when they needed it, not just at the end of the service. Its been so long since we have been in a church where that is the norm.
So we started praying specifically about that little city. We asked the Lord, if He wanted us up there, He would have to provide the home. It was several weeks of Jon commuting over two hours to work, with no home in sight and one night we just really had had enough. If the Lord did not want us there, then He would have to provide a job somewhere else, the secondary work we were doing was not enough to support us, and it was in this area, with no church, but if the Lord wanted us here, He would have to provide more work ( and a church).
That night I looked on craigslist ( AGAIN) and found a home. It was less that we were paying now, ( YES!!) and sounded bigger( OH YESS) It had an in-laws suite, and since Mom and Dad Douglass were now living with us, it would be nice ( soundeds perfect).
I left an email. No respose ( sigh).
Jon decided to try to find it, sure enough, it literally sits in the back yard of the church we visited.
Since then we have visited 2 other churches in the area. They are all wonderful. There is one more, but we have not been there yet.
So, now instead of praying for a house, we are praying for a home.
We are praying that the Lord would show us EXACTLY what church home He wants us in. We need a place to fellowship. We need a place to serve, we need to be where God wants us.
So, this weekend was spent moving half our stuff up, next weekend we will move the rest of it, then the last weekend we have a yard sale here to get rid of junk and clean up.
SOOOO, if you're ever in the Charleston area ( its beautiful and Historic) give me call. We are just south of it.
