Memorial Day

Memorial Day began and ended with A BANG here.

Mom and Dad Douglass came over for the long weekend and we decided to take some much needed family time! They brought with them Destiny and Diana ( Dustin's girls)
since momma Jennifer just had a new baby and really needed a little rest. ( I remember having two toddlers and a newborn, and its just exhausting)

We played and swam, and on Monday went out on the boat.

Jon, Dad, David,Michelle, Justin .Jaren, Shelby and Gracie all went on the boat, while Mom me and the little ones gathered supplies and watched from the dock.

I saw Shelby in the tube first....

Then we saw this.....

A little closer....( the ladies crabbing said one about twice that size had already taken off with one of their crab pots!)

I called Jon and begged him to PLEEEEEASE not dump my baby in the river!!!

Then the little girls wanted in the boat....
We got to the boat ramp in time to see this...
Mom and I laughed,we could just see the news....
" International Missionary Dave Douglass has been arrested and interrogated in Vietnam, held up by Muslim Radicals, lived in the slums of Africa.....

eaten by an alligator while TUBING in Savannah GA!!"

They all took turns in the tube ( Including the babies, shhh don't tell Dustin and Jennifer!) and had a great time until ....

Shelby ended up here...( Poor baby was terrified)

Left with this....

all because of this.....
she kicked the propeller ( fortunately, it was not on) and ended up with 6 stitches a tetanus shot and really smelly medicine! They said the river water has a lot of bacteria in it so she had to keep it really wrapped and elevated for a few days, then just really wrapped!)

Funny what you said about the news articles on Brother Douglass. ha haaa!

No thanks on the gater. You couldn't have paid me enough to get in that water! As a matter of fact, Ida been so far out of the area it wouldn't have been funny. Glad y'all had fun though. LOL
